"philipilihp" (philiphilip)

I was out running on Saturday and spotted this. Any ideas?
There were parts strewn all over the place, mostly covered in dirt, and body panels and wiring were rusted and rotten beyond all recognition. Literally the only un-rusted part was what remained of the gearbox housing, which had a VW logo on it. I was really hoping to take some engine parts home as a souvenir but none were to be found. So I left for fear of tetanus.

Bug. Looks like the front suspension is disconnected.
Edit: Might be a Super Beetle. They used MacPherson struts up front instead of the beam front.

It is a standard beetle pan, just upside down. You can make out the lower beam in the picture. The super beetle pan has a narrower, longer front bulkhead. The 4x130 bolt pattern indicates it is a late model.
